Deux \u00eeles assez diff\u00e9rentes: l\u2019une, Sao Jorge, tr\u00e8s allong\u00e9e, un peu en forme d\u2019\u00e9p\u00e9e, abrite sur ses hauts plateaux des exploitations agricoles traditionnelles, royaume de troupeaux de vaches paisibles qui semblent donner le rythme \u00e0 l\u2019\u00eele toute enti\u00e8re mais offre \u00e9galement de nombreux points de vue saisissants sur les autres \u00eeles environnantes ou les bas plateaux volcaniques( \u00ab les fajas \u00bb) soigneusement cultiv\u00e9s ; l\u2019autre, Terceira, toute ronde, arbore fi\u00e8rement sa cit\u00e9 historique Angra do Heroismo, au pass\u00e9 marqu\u00e9 par les luttes de pouvoir qui ont jalonn\u00e9 toute son histoire. C\u2019est l\u2019\u00eele \u2018branch\u00e9e\u2019 des A\u00e7ores, un peu en d\u00e9calage avec les autres aux visages plus modestes.
